Let's reverse the question. Imagine being a discarnate spirit, asking another discarnate spirit "what awaits us in life?" Well, it kind of depends, doesn't it? The life of a typical teenager is probably a bit different from the life of your average medieval peasant is probably different from the life of Paris Hilton's chihuahua is probably a bit different from the life of my houseplants.
The experience of "Life" is highly varied.
Why assume the death experience would be less so?
Conspiracy is nothing more than a fancy word for "planning" in which the citizens have deliberately been excluded from the early stages thereby leaving them in the dark as to the ultimate goal of the project; I understand your concern. But I feel that since they create/operate the imaginary system, there motivation is not profit.
For example, glenn becks recent specials on george soros do appear to make it seem as if he is evil. Truth is subjective. If the value of the american dollar was to fall, wouldnt the value of other currencies then rise? They will be able to purchase MORE from us for LESS. Since they will be able to purchase MORE for less, we will have to MAKE MORE. Giving more people jobs... sure they are all getting paid 'less'... but america would then redevelop its own domestic marketplace.
So the question is ... what really happened in this scenario?
Nothing... its all imaginary, we as a species allow the 'profit motive' and 'poverty motive' to exist. These motives are extremely beneficial to progress, but NOT humane in any sense of the word.
Sometimes when you're ready for a change... and you kind of know it but won't admit it, when it comes, not only are you surprised, but it hurts. Yeah, I know that doesn't help much, unless you remember the 'ready' part. Because there is simply no change that might ever transpire in time and space that happens before you're fully able to use it for your own growth and glory .
Go ahead and take the leap. Believe everything until you know otherwise - because once you discover the "truth", you'll know it doesn't matter. Everything is simply reflection/perception. Change it, accept it, love it, all is well.
I believe I can share my story using general terms but if I go into [specific] details then I am not following what I believe in.
I think you are on the same level and are able to understand what I have to say as truth.
I understand, but for me its not an ego issue, it's about protecting the truth from those who may use it for bad - that was what was overwhelming the most about what I have yet learned, knowing I have to protect my core values and not allow anything to get to me and use what knowledge I have... to gain an unfair advantage over others.
I believe some of the people in the world work together and share this 'information' in groups who may be using it to ruin our world, but hopefully those like me and you can step up together and change the outcomes that may end badly for us all.
You aren't some spiritual pawn, you know. God didn't send you down here with a paper bag over your head. You pulled the bag over your own head and eagerly jumped in. You knew the experience would be beneficial and that you would learn from it. God gave us free will, and doesn't really interfere unless you ask him to.
I have a feeling that if all the NDE'ers are right, when you die you will realize that instead of bickering with God about your own choice to be human, you could've spent that time doing what you came here to do: helping people and growing spiritually.
was merely speaking on what we know is provable. There are as many theories on after-death experiences as there are on what's REALLY on the menu at the local chinese restaurant. Personally, I find faith and reassurance in that which I know to be true, and not what I feel should be true.
Feelings and emotions are terrible guides at times leading us down paths we know we shouldn't follow, but nearly impossible for us to resist.
I don't put a lot of stock into NDE's or such, as I'm never really sure I can trust the source. Allow me for a moment, to draw somewhat of a parallel explanation. In my teens, I began to believe in God and the bible wholeheartedly. I believed there was a terrible hell that millions of people were headed straight for - and they didn't seem to know or care.
I couldn't believe that they wouldn't care that they were going to burn for eternity, and even more incredulous for me to believe was that the members of the church weren't too fond of doing anything about it either. I felt that it should be shouted from the rooftops, and heralded in the newspapers, echoed on television sets all across the world.
Nearly all of the other church members agreed with me, yet absolutely NONE of them would do anything to get the message out. I felt the church must be defective.
Then I discovered the Pentecostal faith. This was almost unbelievable.
God would reach down and touch these people, electrifying their bodies with a mystical power causing them to speak in tongues, tremble, shout....I felt that HAD to be the ultimate experience. THAT is what I wanted, because THAT HAD to be real. I was prayed over. I prayed.
Time passed and went on and on and on, and guess what. It NEVER happened. I was recounted many stories by others of the magical power of the holy spirit and the healings and lives changed - yet here I was, in my youth, earnestly seeking for meaning - seeking God, right in the midst of what I believed to be God's people with his alleged work right in my face and he SHUNNED me?
I began to think that perhaps I was either demon-possessed and beyond salvation - or that something else was going on here.
It wasn't very long after that, that my intellect kicked in and I saw the whole charade for exactly what it was.
Nothing more than a dog & pony show thrown together in a backwoods church by even more backwoods hicks in an effort to add a little more meaning to their meager lives. The whole "church" events had become nothing more than social events for the regulars, and maybe a little guilt-cleansing for the not-so-regulars.
The point of my senseless babble here is that what they TOLD me is what they wanted me to believe.
Their fits of "anointing" of the holy spirit were nothing more than them doing it to themselves and giving god the credit.
They claimed to experience something from a celestial origin, when they were really the ones in control.
Now, I'm not saying that all NDE's are made up, or embellished upon lavishly - it's just that I am not certain of exactly what runs through someones mind when they tell me something that would be beyond the norm. I'll stop the prattle now, and entertain with some of my favorite theories.
#1. Our consciousness is actually made up of tiny energy particles that was created in the big bang. Our entire reality actually IS consciousness - who's form is energy, in the form of matter. It's entire purpose is the evolution of mind in matter - to enrich it's own knowledge of itself. It has guided evolution over the years, finding out what worked...gave up on the dinosaurs when it finally invented flight, and it's crown glory has been the creation of mammals. Every event in history is transcribed in light, most of all of which is reflected back into the cosmos. Upon our physical death, these energy particles pass on our experiences into the cosmos and they in turn enter into other newborn beings taking our consciousness, but not our memories, with them. I can elaborate more on this theory if you would like, it's quite in depth.
#2. A thought I had during a mind bending/expanding experience with psychoactive substances. At barter faire, on shrooms.... on this one-time-trip, I was shown a vast array of hard drives, and was told that every person in existence was actually a program running on a computer. (very much like the matrix)
The cosmos was the main software running, and every single thing in it that was happening was nothing more than self-sustaining code, that had the ability to learn, and also the ability to adapt. Death didn't exist, because neither did life. IT WAS ALL AN ILLUSION, like Einstein said:
Reality is merely an illusion albeit a very persistent one.
#3. I sometimes get 'the feeling', and I have on several occasions when someone I knew had died that was of questionable moral character. I had a meth head cousin in law that died in a cocaine induced car wreck.
He was a hopeless drug addict, and dealer, with a vicious temper and personality to match.
We had several skirmishes, one of which nearly resulted in him placing a 9mm slug between my eyes while he shouted accusations of some bizzare nature.
Very little love was lost when he died, at 24, yet in the following days I got the creeping suspicion that he was still around.
I knew he was dead.
I saw him in the casket. I got the feeling that he was slowly regaining some sense of consciousness and had nothing but pure evil on his mind - yet that he was veiled just enough from this world to where it was too "foggy" for him to function.
I had grandparents, one of which had Alzheimer (on my fathers side), and my grandmother (gm) cared for my grandfather(gf).
For years my gm nursed my gf. One day, my gm wasn't answering her phone, my cousin investigated and found that our gm had died during the night in her sleep.
My gf was in the last stages of his disease, he knew nothing, could say nothing, recognized no one.
He WAS rather active before my gm passed, as she would have to run after him and herd him back into his recliner where he was more manageable.
AFTER she passed, my gf changed drastically.
He did nothing but sleep. After a week of sleeping 18 hour days, he began waving periodically - into thin air.
He would even smile.
At this time, we noticed that the clock on the mantle above the fireplace had stopped on what the coroner said would have been my gm's approximate time of death.
Within a week, my gf had died.
A few days later, as their home was being sorted out, it was noticed that my gf's watch had stopped at the same time he had died.
My father has sworn that he has seen their ghosts at his house, and every time he has, they were always holding hands....and always smiling.
#4. We are caught in a loop. We have existed many times before, and will exist many times again in the future. What makes us "us" is the particular combination of DNA that formed us. This universe has existed many times before, in many different forms, and in an infinite loop - some of those times are bound to be identical, or close.
How did I come to believe things like this?
Step1. Always played an imaginary game w my friends where we would develop 'alien' civilizations... constitution, income sheets, newspapers... and we would act out when we were together in total complete detail. We were all SO into it... we never broke character whenever we were fantasizing. This led me to think about aliens.
Step 2. Dream about aliens rofl
Step 3. Develop my 'society/alien-race' further
Step 4. Dream about 'my society'
Step 5. Look for validation of the existence of 'something more', yearning for the inherent beauty for true equality for all. With emphasis towards EXTREME rehabilitation if someone breaks such a 'just' societies laws (of course, with imaginary technology to help a lot) (not brain washing, but like (towards the end of development, my constitution included equal rights for cyborgs) Everyone gets free education at every level. And this ensures no societal collusion. Nothing is allowed to be kept secret except for descriptions of weapons or advanced tech unique to the civ, not tech it discovers of other civs.
My [ideal] civilization publicly acknowledge(d)s that it 'steals' technology, but once it does, unless weapons related, the findings are immediately analyzed and shared with the society as a whole- as in the entire species. Defense tech is also shared with all.
This pissed the sh*t out of my friends, one even went so far as to develop a sub-space communication blocking technology so he could maintain his dictatorship.
We had a board that issues news to the entire species, an internationally funded board with ridiculous amounts of oversight. If any person in the entire world can prove you have intentionally lied (which is easy to do in this advanced of a society), you are forced, again, into EXTREME rehabilitation. This rehabilitation board is also set up similar to the news board.. all things have to be approved by ALL nations when comes to psychology, because of societal differences. (except the dictator towards the end, because he withdrew from the 'league')
Religions exist exstensiveley, in the sense that the people beliefs vary in the higher realms of thought that still have yet to proven.
The last game we played, we established a 'techocracy' relinquished our anctient imperialist ways, set up a 'Prime Directive' based on star trek.
The entire time, it was agreed earth was within the borders of my civilization.
I wrote an entire notebook about how my people, who I fantasized 'loved' me, should deal with earth, how it should be changed, how we can do it... and make 'them' feel as if they are as grand as I believe us to truly be.
Very horrible things began to happen in my life. My family descended into alcoholism when my mom split from my stepdad of seven years... and I descended into my mind; and a deep depression caused by my fantasies and the lack of there manifestation in the real world.
I was even sent to a psychiatric hospital after I made a huge breakthrough in thought, which no one else could understand. I was ordered to stay there for 14 days, and they released only on a LRO, which forced me to take 800mg of Lithium, 25mg of Zanex for sleep, benadryl to prevent 'cognitive clogging' from the 5mg of zeprexa 3 times a day. and 10 mg of Trileptal to prevent the tremors.
The judge and the psychiatrist I was under the charge of added an uncommon stipulation to my LRO: if I was to take a blood test and there was ANY evidence I had lowered my doses, I would immediately be sent back to the psychiatric hospital for the remainder of half-year less restrictive order.
It was either I choose that, or stay in the hospital for the remainder of the six months.
This is when I lost faith.. not in our constitution, but those who trample on it. I wrote the ACLU before I agreed to anything, and called until I got through an talked to a lawyer. He told me he agreed with the judge an that my thinking, he was sorry to say, did seem psychotic.
I want to help everyone understand what I know/believe to be true.
That is my goal, to fuck the current direction of the NWO.

Support the Truth in Trials Act
My letter to congress:
I am writing to request that my congress people in the Senate and
House support the Truth in Trials Act.
The DEA has supervised an unprecedented level of paramilitary-style
enforcement raids against patients and providers who were in clear
compliance with their state medical marijuana. These raids are a
waste of resources and I think more needs to be done to resolve the
growing conflict between state and federal law.
Marijuana has often been depicted as a useless drug, and when I was in
school I was told it was worse than alcohol.
Marijuana contains an amazing chemical, beta-caryophyllene, and
scientists have thoroughly proven that it can be used to treat pain,
inflammation, atherosclerosis, and osteoporosis.
Jürg Gertsch, of ETH Zürich, and his collaborators from three other
universities learned that the natural molecule can activate a protein
called cannabinoid receptor type 2. When that biological button is
pushed, it soothes the immune system, increases bone mass, and blocks
pain signals — without causing euphoria or interfering with the
central nervous system. Gertsch and his team published their findings
on June 23 of 2010 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of
Sciences.They focused on the anti-inflammatory properties of the
impressive substance — testing it on immune cells called monocytes and
also in mice.
Investigators at London's Kings College reported that the
administration of doses of synthetic THC temporarily interfered with
activity in the inferior frontal cortex, a region of the brain
associated with paranoia, while administration of the non-psychoactive
compound cannanabanoid(CBD) stimulated relaxation. The reports go on
to suggest that chronic use of cannabis may precipitate various types
of mental illness and cite a separate unpublished study indicating
that cannabis use may exacerbate symptoms of schizophrenia.
Such clinical findings and suggestions are not new. Scientists have
known for decades that THC is psychoactive and that peak blood levels
of its primary active metabolite 11-OH-THC are occasionally associated
with temporary feelings of dysphoria, paranoia, and even panic
attacks. (These events, when documented, typically occur in cannabis
naïve users.)
Conversely, scientists have also been long aware of CBD's anxiolytic
and anti-psychotic effects. In fact, many experts speculate that it is
the lack of CBD in Marinol (the synthetic THC oral prescription pill)
that is responsible for the drug's enhanced psychoactivity. By
contrast, CBD occurs naturally in whole-plant cannabis, and is
believed to modify and/or diminish some of the psychoactivity
associated with THC when cannabis is inhaled.
Fears that chronic cannabis use may be positively associated with
various mental illnesses, particularly schizophrenia, are also
long-standing. However, a recent meta-analysis investigating the use
of cannabis use and its impact on mental health reported that those
who use cannabis in moderation, even long-term "will not suffer any
lasting physical or mental harm. ... Overall, by comparison with other
drugs used mainly for 'recreational' purposes, cannabis could be rated
to be a relatively safe drug. (Leslie Iverson. 2005. Long-term effects
of exposure to cannabis. Current Opinion in Pharmacology 5: 69-72.)
The phrase "relatively safe" is appropriate in any discussion
regarding cannabis and mental health. No substance is harmless and in
many cases, the relative dangers of a drug may be increased or
decreased depending on set and setting. Cannabis is no different.
There is limited data suggesting an association, albiet a minor one,
between chronic cannabis (primarily among adolescents and/or those
predisposed to mental illness) and increased symptoms of depression,
psychotic symptoms, and/or schizophrenia. However, interpretation of
this data is troublesome and, to date, this observation association is
not well understood. Identified as well as unidentified confounding
factors (such as poverty, family history, polydrug use, etc.) make it
difficult, if not impossible, for researchers to adequately determine
whether any cause-and-effect relationship exists between cannabis use
and mental illness. Also, many experts point out that this association
may be due to patients' self-medicating with cannabis, as survey data
and anecdotal reports of individuals finding therapeutic relief from
both clinical depression and schizotypal behavior are common within
medical lore, and clinical testing on the use of cannabinoids to treat
certain symptoms of mental illness has been recommended.
Most recently, a large-scale study by investigators at London's
Institute of Psychiatry reported that those patients diagnosed with
schizophrenia who had previously used cannabis did not demonstrate
exacerbated symptoms of the illness compared to age-adjusted controls
who had not used cannabis. "This [finding] argues against a distinct
schizophrenia-like psychosis caused by cannabis," they concluded.
In 2003, researchers at the University of Milan in Naples, Italy,
reported that non-psychoactive compounds in marijuana inhibited the
growth of glioma cells in a dose dependent manner and selectively
targeted and killed malignant cancer cells.
The following year, researchers reported in the journal of the
American Association for Cancer Research that marijuana's constituents
inhibited the spread of brain cancer in human tumor biopsies. In a
related development, a research team from the University of South
Florida further noted that THC can also selectively inhibit the
activation and replication of gamma herpes viruses. The viruses, which
can lie dormant for years within white blood cells before becoming
active and spreading to other cells, are thought to increase one's
chances of developing cancers such as Karposis Sarcoma, Burkitts
lymphoma, and Hodgkins disease.
Government experts now admit that pot doesn't kill brain cells. This
myth came from a handful of animal experiments in which structural
changes (not actual cell death, as is often alleged) were observed in
brain cells of animals exposed to high doses of pot. Many critics
still cite the notorious monkey studies of Dr. Robert G. Heath, which
purported to find brain damage in three monkeys that had been heavily
dosed with cannabis. This work was never replicated and has since been
discredited by a pair of better controlled, much larger monkey
studies, one by Dr. William Slikker of the National Center for
Toxicological Research and the other by Charles Rebert and Gordon
Pryor of SRI International. Neither found any evidence of physical
alteration in the brains of monkeys exposed to daily doses of pot for
up to a year. Human studies of heavy users in Jamaica and Costa Rica
found no evidence of abnormalities in brain physiology. Even though
there is no evidence that pot causes permanent brain damage, users
should be aware that persistent deficits in short-term memory have
been noted in chronic, heavy marijuana smokers after 6 to 12 weeks of
abstinence. It is worth noting that other drugs, including alcohol,
are known to cause brain damage.
There is no scientific evidence for the theory that marijuana is a
"gateway" drug. The cannabis-using cultures in Asia, the Middle East,
Africa and Latin America show no propensity for other drugs. The
gateway theory took hold in the sixties, when marijuana became the
leading new recreational drug. It was refuted by events in the
eighties, when cocaine abuse exploded at the same time marijuana use
declined.
As we have seen, there is evidence that cannabis may substitute for
alcohol and other "hard" drugs. A recent survey by Dr. Patricia Morgan
of the University of California at Berekeley found that a significant
number of pot smokers and dealers switched to methamphetamine "ice"
when Hawaii's marijuana eradication program created a shortage of pot.
Dr. Morgan noted a similar phenomenon in California, where cocaine use
soared in the wake of the CAMP helicopter eradication campaign.
The one way in which marijuana does lead to other drugs is through its
illegality: persons who deal in marijuana are likely to deal in other
illicit drugs as well.
Moderate smoking of marijuana appears to pose minimal danger to the
lungs. Like tobacco smoke, marijuana smoke contains a number of
irritants and carcinogens. But marijuana users typically smoke much
less often than tobacco smokers, and over time, inhale much less
smoke.
**On October 19th, Obama drug czar Gil Kerlikowske spoke out again in
opposition to Proposition 19, this time on a trip to Florida:
[Kerlikowske] mocked the claim from proponents of Proposition 19 that
legalization "solves every problem ... It's touted as some type of
answer. Legalizing drugs is not the answer to this nation's problems."
But what about medical marijuana, especially as a treatment for
chronic pain that harsh narcotics like Oxycodone are used to treat?

Scientists have determined that marijuana is a treatment for many
things. Scientists are the ones who conducted the studies referred to
in my opening argument.
Another example is its use in HIV/AIDS cases:
"Many people with HIV have low appetite. This can be due to fatigue or
drug side effects. Low appetite can lead to AIDS wasting. Marijuana
stimulates the appetite, preventing these problems.
Some people with HIV get nauseated when they take antiretroviral
medications. This can make it difficult to take all scheduled doses.
Marijuana can help control the nausea."
I personally know and there are many documented cases of HIV/AIDS
patients lives being saved because of wait gain after beginning the
use of marijuana.
The weight gain from the 'munchies' allows the users body to
essentially rebuild the immune system, especially if the persons diet
is consistent with recommendations from there doctor. (No junk food)
The process we have in this country for producing medicine is 'I
invented this so for ten years I will get loads of money for it' If
someone can grow their medicine in there backyard, who will pay the
lobbyists? Again marijuana has been determined as a treatment by
scientists for many things. Why else would they work so hard to invent
Marinol? And why isnt Marinol banned..? What are the side affects of
Marinol?

These are exactly the same effects as marijuana.
Marinol is derived from a substance in Marijuana. Marinol is a pill; a
pharmecutical version of Marijuana allowed by the FDA. Marijuana has
the substance Dronabinol (a cannabanoid, derived from the word
Cannabis, a synonym for Marijuana) naturally present in it, which is
the SCIENTIFIC cause behinds Canibinols effects.
So the government and regulatory bodies admit, through allowing
Marinol, that Dronabinol is beneficial in the treatment of nausea.
Dronabinol is naturally found in Marijuana, and no other place...
The active ingredient in Marinol is in fact FOUND in Marijuana,
therefore making it (Marijuana) a medicine; backed by the fact that
the FDA has endorsed the use of Marinol.
So is marijuana worse than alcohol?
I think not.
In October of 2009, the Obama Administration issued a memorandum to
U.S. Attorneys discouraging the use of federal resources to prosecute
individuals who are in “clear and unambiguous compliance” with their
state compassionate use law. Since then, ASA has tracked more than 30
federal enforcement raids in California, Colorado, Hawaii, and Nevada.
Despite these tactics, more states are adopting regulations to
authorize safe access to marijuana for medical purposes.
By supporting the Truth in Trial Act, you are supporting a positive
step in change for the American publics perception of the legislative
process.
Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with state medical
marijuana laws, we can agree that the status-quo is not sustainable
and requires change. The next DEA Administrator will be challenged
with negotiating this growing divide between state and federal law and
the situation will only get worse as more states adopt regulations to
control the cultivation and distribution of marijuana for medical
purposes. Please ask tough questions to ensure that the next DEA
Administrator possesses the leadership necessary to create a national
strategy that supports safe and legal access to marijuana for medical
purposes.
It is sad that Americans look at congress and think 'How can I get my
idea through the POLITICAL process?'... Shouldn't you as our governing
leaders, entrusted with our lives, our well being and the freedoms we
cherish, be ensuring that all american are able to express there
ideas in a society that is open because fundamental FREEDOM and
FAIRNESS are guaranteed.
We need a return back to the founders intentions of what our our
country should be.
Our society, the federal government, is often misunderstood.
I only began to comprehend this more clearly when I watched former
President Bushs' interview on Oprah. The truth is, by very definition
a 'state' is an independent authority. It is the role of the federal
government to be a catalyst for the success of the individuals states,
not to 'wow' the American public.
By very definition a 'Federal' Government is this:
Federal: of or relating to the central government of a federation; "a

Resolved:
The Federal Government of the United States of America should be the
central governing body of our great federation/republic, through
administering public policy; it is to provide a conducive environment
for the members of society to be innovative, fueling progress.
Because the perception of the american public believes otherwise, I
would argue this is the most patriotic message you could send to the
American public.
Furthermore, if you do not ignore my call to action, I promise the
flame of the Statue of Liberty will then become, once again, a flame
of TRUE freedom to the world.
I have been feeling more and more like a 'subject' lately, and not a
'member' of our society, the most enlightened in the world, and that
is a sad thing.
I beg you to take this step to begin to restore my faith in American
society, and governments in general.

As you know, H.R. 3939 would amend the federal criminal code to: (1) allow any person on trial for a federal marijuana-related offense to
introduce evidence that the alleged marijuana-related activities were
performed in compliance with state law regarding the medical use of
marijuana; (2) allow an affirmative defense to a marijuana prosecution that the alleged marijuana-related activities complied with state law regarding the medical use of marijuana; (3) limit the criminal
liability of persons convicted of federal marijuana-related offenses;
(4) require the preservation and return (if a defendant is acquitted)
of property seized in connection with a marijuana prosecution; and (5)
prohibit the seizure of plants grown or stored under a physician's
recommendation or by order of a state or municipal agency in
accordance with state law regarding the medical use of marijuana.
H.R. 3939 has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee where it
awaits further consideration. Because of your interest in this

I am writing to request that my congress people in the Senate and
House support the Truth in Trials Act.
The DEA has supervised an unprecedented level of paramilitary-style
enforcement raids against patients and providers who were in clear
compliance with their state medical marijuana. These raids are a
waste of resources and I think more needs to be done to resolve the
growing conflict between state and federal law.
Marijuana has often been depicted as a useless drug, and when I was in
school I was told it was worse than alcohol.
Marijuana contains an amazing chemical, beta-caryophyllene, and
scientists have thoroughly proven that it can be used to treat pain,
inflammation, atherosclerosis, and osteoporosis.
Jürg Gertsch, of ETH Zürich, and his collaborators from three other
universities learned that the natural molecule can activate a protein
called cannabinoid receptor type 2. When that biological button is
pushed, it soothes the immune system, increases bone mass, and blocks
pain signals — without causing euphoria or interfering with the
central nervous system. Gertsch and his team published their findings
on June 23 of 2010 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of
Sciences.They focused on the anti-inflammatory properties of the
impressive substance — testing it on immune cells called monocytes and
also in mice.
Investigators at London's Kings College reported that the
administration of doses of synthetic THC temporarily interfered with
activity in the inferior frontal cortex, a region of the brain
associated with paranoia, while administration of the non-psychoactive
compound cannanabanoid(CBD) stimulated relaxation. The reports go on
to suggest that chronic use of cannabis may precipitate various types
of mental illness and cite a separate unpublished study indicating
that cannabis use may exacerbate symptoms of schizophrenia.
Such clinical findings and suggestions are not new. Scientists have
known for decades that THC is psychoactive and that peak blood levels
of its primary active metabolite 11-OH-THC are occasionally associated
with temporary feelings of dysphoria, paranoia, and even panic
attacks. (These events, when documented, typically occur in cannabis
naïve users.)
Conversely, scientists have also been long aware of CBD's anxiolytic
and anti-psychotic effects. In fact, many experts speculate that it is
the lack of CBD in Marinol (the synthetic THC oral prescription pill)
that is responsible for the drug's enhanced psychoactivity. By
contrast, CBD occurs naturally in whole-plant cannabis, and is
believed to modify and/or diminish some of the psychoactivity
associated with THC when cannabis is inhaled.
Fears that chronic cannabis use may be positively associated with
various mental illnesses, particularly schizophrenia, are also
long-standing. However, a recent meta-analysis investigating the use
of cannabis use and its impact on mental health reported that those
who use cannabis in moderation, even long-term "will not suffer any
lasting physical or mental harm. ... Overall, by comparison with other
drugs used mainly for 'recreational' purposes, cannabis could be rated
to be a relatively safe drug. (Leslie Iverson. 2005. Long-term effects
of exposure to cannabis. Current Opinion in Pharmacology 5: 69-72.)
The phrase "relatively safe" is appropriate in any discussion
regarding cannabis and mental health. No substance is harmless and in
many cases, the relative dangers of a drug may be increased or
decreased depending on set and setting. Cannabis is no different.
There is limited data suggesting an association, albiet a minor one,
between chronic cannabis (primarily among adolescents and/or those
predisposed to mental illness) and increased symptoms of depression,
psychotic symptoms, and/or schizophrenia. However, interpretation of
this data is troublesome and, to date, this observation association is
not well understood. Identified as well as unidentified confounding
factors (such as poverty, family history, polydrug use, etc.) make it
difficult, if not impossible, for researchers to adequately determine
whether any cause-and-effect relationship exists between cannabis use
and mental illness. Also, many experts point out that this association
may be due to patients' self-medicating with cannabis, as survey data
and anecdotal reports of individuals finding therapeutic relief from
both clinical depression and schizotypal behavior are common within
medical lore, and clinical testing on the use of cannabinoids to treat
certain symptoms of mental illness has been recommended.
Most recently, a large-scale study by investigators at London's
Institute of Psychiatry reported that those patients diagnosed with
schizophrenia who had previously used cannabis did not demonstrate
exacerbated symptoms of the illness compared to age-adjusted controls
who had not used cannabis. "This [finding] argues against a distinct
schizophrenia-like psychosis caused by cannabis," they concluded.
In 2003, researchers at the University of Milan in Naples, Italy,
reported that non-psychoactive compounds in marijuana inhibited the
growth of glioma cells in a dose dependent manner and selectively
targeted and killed malignant cancer cells.
The following year, researchers reported in the journal of the
American Association for Cancer Research that marijuana's constituents
inhibited the spread of brain cancer in human tumor biopsies. In a
related development, a research team from the University of South
Florida further noted that THC can also selectively inhibit the
activation and replication of gamma herpes viruses. The viruses, which
can lie dormant for years within white blood cells before becoming
active and spreading to other cells, are thought to increase one's
chances of developing cancers such as Karposis Sarcoma, Burkitts
lymphoma, and Hodgkins disease.
Government experts now admit that pot doesn't kill brain cells. This
myth came from a handful of animal experiments in which structural
changes (not actual cell death, as is often alleged) were observed in
brain cells of animals exposed to high doses of pot. Many critics
still cite the notorious monkey studies of Dr. Robert G. Heath, which
purported to find brain damage in three monkeys that had been heavily
dosed with cannabis. This work was never replicated and has since been
discredited by a pair of better controlled, much larger monkey
studies, one by Dr. William Slikker of the National Center for
Toxicological Research and the other by Charles Rebert and Gordon
Pryor of SRI International. Neither found any evidence of physical
alteration in the brains of monkeys exposed to daily doses of pot for
up to a year. Human studies of heavy users in Jamaica and Costa Rica
found no evidence of abnormalities in brain physiology. Even though
there is no evidence that pot causes permanent brain damage, users
should be aware that persistent deficits in short-term memory have
been noted in chronic, heavy marijuana smokers after 6 to 12 weeks of
abstinence. It is worth noting that other drugs, including alcohol,
are known to cause brain damage.
There is no scientific evidence for the theory that marijuana is a
"gateway" drug. The cannabis-using cultures in Asia, the Middle East,
Africa and Latin America show no propensity for other drugs. The
gateway theory took hold in the sixties, when marijuana became the
leading new recreational drug. It was refuted by events in the
eighties, when cocaine abuse exploded at the same time marijuana use
declined.
As we have seen, there is evidence that cannabis may substitute for
alcohol and other "hard" drugs. A recent survey by Dr. Patricia Morgan
of the University of California at Berekeley found that a significant
number of pot smokers and dealers switched to methamphetamine "ice"
when Hawaii's marijuana eradication program created a shortage of pot.
Dr. Morgan noted a similar phenomenon in California, where cocaine use
soared in the wake of the CAMP helicopter eradication campaign.
The one way in which marijuana does lead to other drugs is through its
illegality: persons who deal in marijuana are likely to deal in other
illicit drugs as well.
Moderate smoking of marijuana appears to pose minimal danger to the
lungs. Like tobacco smoke, marijuana smoke contains a number of
irritants and carcinogens. But marijuana users typically smoke much
less often than tobacco smokers, and over time, inhale much less
smoke.
**On October 19th, Obama drug czar Gil Kerlikowske spoke out again in
opposition to Proposition 19, this time on a trip to Florida:
[Kerlikowske] mocked the claim from proponents of Proposition 19 that
legalization "solves every problem ... It's touted as some type of
answer. Legalizing drugs is not the answer to this nation's problems."
But what about medical marijuana, especially as a treatment for
chronic pain that harsh narcotics like Oxycodone are used to treat?

Scientists have determined that marijuana is a treatment for many
things. Scientists are the ones who conducted the studies referred to
in my opening argument.
Another example is its use in HIV/AIDS cases:
"Many people with HIV have low appetite. This can be due to fatigue or
drug side effects. Low appetite can lead to AIDS wasting. Marijuana
stimulates the appetite, preventing these problems.
Some people with HIV get nauseated when they take antiretroviral
medications. This can make it difficult to take all scheduled doses.
Marijuana can help control the nausea."
I personally know and there are many documented cases of HIV/AIDS
patients lives being saved because of wait gain after beginning the
use of marijuana.
The weight gain from the 'munchies' allows the users body to
essentially rebuild the immune system, especially if the persons diet
is consistent with recommendations from there doctor. (No junk food)
The process we have in this country for producing medicine is 'I
invented this so for ten years I will get loads of money for it' If
someone can grow their medicine in there backyard, who will pay the
lobbyists? Again marijuana has been determined as a treatment by
scientists for many things. Why else would they work so hard to invent
Marinol? And why isnt Marinol banned..? What are the side affects of
Marinol?

dizziness
unsteady walking
feeling like you are outside of your body
elevated mood (Sounds like 'high' to me)
hallucinations (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist)

These are exactly the same effects as marijuana.
Marinol is derived from a substance in Marijuana. Marinol is a pill; a
pharmecutical version of Marijuana allowed by the FDA. Marijuana has
the substance Dronabinol (a cannabanoid, derived from the word
Cannabis, a synonym for Marijuana) naturally present in it, which is
the SCIENTIFIC cause behinds Canibinols effects.
So the government and regulatory bodies admit, through allowing
Marinol, that Dronabinol is beneficial in the treatment of nausea.
Dronabinol is naturally found in Marijuana, and no other place...
The active ingredient in Marinol is in fact FOUND in Marijuana,
therefore making it (Marijuana) a medicine; backed by the fact that
the FDA has endorsed the use of Marinol.
So is marijuana worse than alcohol?
I think not.
In October of 2009, the Obama Administration issued a memorandum to
U.S. Attorneys discouraging the use of federal resources to prosecute
individuals who are in “clear and unambiguous compliance” with their
state compassionate use law. Since then, ASA has tracked more than 30
federal enforcement raids in California, Colorado, Hawaii, and Nevada.
Despite these tactics, more states are adopting regulations to
authorize safe access to marijuana for medical purposes.
By supporting the Truth in Trial Act, you are supporting a positive
step in change for the American publics perception of the legislative
process.
Regardless of whether you agree or disagree with state medical
marijuana laws, we can agree that the status-quo is not sustainable
and requires change. The next DEA Administrator will be challenged
with negotiating this growing divide between state and federal law and
the situation will only get worse as more states adopt regulations to
control the cultivation and distribution of marijuana for medical
purposes. Please ask tough questions to ensure that the next DEA
Administrator possesses the leadership necessary to create a national
strategy that supports safe and legal access to marijuana for medical
purposes.
It is sad that Americans look at congress and think 'How can I get my
idea through the POLITICAL process?'... Shouldn't you as our governing
leaders, entrusted with our lives, our well being and the freedoms we
cherish, be ensuring that all american are able to express there
ideas in a society that is open because fundamental FREEDOM and
FAIRNESS are guaranteed.
We need a return back to the founders intentions of what our our
country should be.
Our society, the federal government, is often misunderstood.
I only began to comprehend this more clearly when I watched former
President Bushs' interview on Oprah. The truth is, by very definition
a 'state' is an independent authority. It is the role of the federal
government to be a catalyst for the success of the individuals states,
not to 'wow' the American public.
